PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of lowering the display panel temperature by improving the heat radiation efficiency from a display panel. SOLUTION: The image display device 10A includes a display panel 1 having a front surface 1a for displaying an image and a rear surface 1b facing to the side opposite to the front surface 1a, and a chassis 2 for supporting the display panel 1 and to which circuit component parts 3 for providing an electric signal based on image data to the display panel 1 are mounted. The chassis 2 has a frame-like shape surrounding the display panel 1 from the circumference in the direction orthogonal to the thickness direction of the display panel 1 with the rear surface 1b of the display panel 1 exposed.
