<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which acquires a noise signal even when it is controlled by means of an electronic shutter. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The camera 1 includes: an aperture A through which an object light passes; an image pick-up section 50 which picks up the object light passing through the aperture A as an object image; and a barrier member 71 which is provided movably between a close position where the aperture A is substantially closed and an open position retracted from the optical path OP of the object light, and selects a noise rejection mode for removing the background noise from the object image picked up at the image pick-up section 50. The camera 1 is further provided with: a barrier control section 81 which controls a barrier member 71 to be at the close position immediately after or before the object image is picked up at the image pick-up section 50 when the noise rejection mode is selected; and a noise control section 82 which performs background noise rejection operation after the barrier member 71 is controlled to be in the closed position.
