PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tires, having an initial vulcanization rate which enables processing, and high rigidity and hardness, low heat generating property (tanδ) and excellent fracture strength and wear resistance. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tires contains: (A) with respect to 100 parts by mass of a diene rubber component containing 10 to 70 mass% of butadiene rubber (A1) containing 1,2-syndiotactic polybutadiene crystal by 2.5 to 20 mass%; (B) 25 to 47 parts by mass of carbon black; and (C) 0.5 to 3 parts by mass of at least one kind of compound selected from a group consisting of resorcinol, modified resorcinol, cresol and modified cresol.
