PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinyl chloride resin for paste processing that is excellent in a leakage-preventing property of a sol to the blade back surface and flow properties as well as coating productivity. SOLUTION: The vinyl chloride resin for paste processing has a first normal stress difference of at most 9,200 Pa as measured by the measuring method of the first normal stress difference below. The manufacturing method of the same is also provided. The measuring method of the first normal stress difference: the first normal stress difference at a shear rate of 12,500 sec<SP>-1</SP>is measured when a paste vinyl chloride sol, comprising 100 pts.wt. of the vinyl chloride resin for paste processing, 45 pts.wt. of dioctyl phthalate, 70 pts.wt. of calcium carbonate, 15 pts.wt. of a titanium oxide powder, 4.5 pts.wt. of azodicarbonamide, 3.0 pts.wt. of a liquid stabilizer and 15 pts.wt. of a diluent, is subjected to steady flow measurement using a viscoelastometer.
