A method, system and apparatus for removing a plug, including deploying an intervention package and latching the package into a subsea x-mas tree; lowering a stroking tool into the intervention package by wireline, slickline or other conveyance through open water, through a riser, through a spoolable compliant riser, through a flexible riser or through any other conduit connecting a surface facility to a subsea installation; grabbing the stroking tool by a set of rams which are part of the intervention package; once the stroking tool is held by the set of rams, activating the stroking tool to stroke in upwards or downwards direction, in order to either retrieve or set a crown plug into a sealing position in the x-mas tree; and once the plug has been retrieved or set, pulling the stroking tool out of the intervention package and retrieving the stroking tool to the surface. The intervention package is then ready to be used to perform an intervention operation in a subsea well. |
