PURPOSE: An information processing unit, a method thereof, and a program thereof are provided to form proper color gamut on the image data of an object to be processed. CONSTITUTION: A color gamut information generating unit creates color gamut information which shows the color gamut of image data based on table information. The table information shows a maximum chroma point on each equal hue plane. A color gamut converting unit converts the color gamut of the image data using color gamut information which is generated by the color gamut information generating unit. A transmission color gamut information generating unit(424) produces transmission color gamut information using the color gamut information.
