PURPOSE: An airtight container for food storage is provided to maintain a perfect sealing state of a closed container by improving a packing combined with a lid and a structure of the lid connected to the entrance of the container. CONSTITUTION: An airtight container for food storage comprises: a finishing unit(22) surrounding the upper side of the container(11); a container receiving unit(23) horizontally extended from the finishing unit; a packing combination unit(24) convexly projected from the container receiving unit to downward; and a lid(20) formed in the edge. The opening/closing process comprises the following steps of: putting the lid on top of the container; pushing up a blade unit of a packing(40) extended from the container receiving unit elastically; sealing the blade unit to the upper side of the container; maintaining an airtight state of the container while closing the opening/closing valve by a negative pressure; and removing the negative pressure to open the lid from the container by opening the opening/closing valve.
