PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat radiation system and a method for operating the same capable of smoothly carrying out transition from flushing operation to heat supply operation, and capable of sufficiently suppressing blocking in a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: The heat radiation system includes a heat storage material 12 used in latent heat storage, the heat storage device 1 housing a heat-transfering medium 13 carrying out heat exchange by direct contacting the heat storage material 12, a heating medium circulation path 6 connected to the heat storage device 1 and circulating the heat-transfering medium 13, a first heat exchanger 21 and a second heat exchanger 22 provided in parallel in the heating medium circulation path 6 and indirectly heating a heating reception fluid, and a heating medium circulating pump 5 provided in the heating medium circulation path 6 and circulating the heat-transfering medium 13. In the heat radiation system 50, the first heat exchanger 21 and the second heat exchanger 22 are alternately operated for the heat supply operation of indirectly heating the heating reception fluid, and the flushing operation of melting the heat storage material 12 solidified in the heat exchanger and returning it into the heat storage device 1.
