CARBON DIOXIDE STORAGE FACILITY AND METHOD OF STORING CARBON DIOXIDE UNDERGROUND

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon dioxide storage facility which enable storing of voluminous carbon dioxide underground easily and inexpensively, and to provide a method of storing the carbon dioxide underground. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The carbon dioxide storage facility 1 for storing the carbon dioxide in a highly water permeable layer comprise: an access tunnel 10 leading to a spot above the highly water permeable layer from the ground; a branch gallery 11 which extends in the width direction from the access tunnel 10 above the highly water permeable layer; a plurality of press-in wells 12 which are formed downward from the branch gallery 11 to intrude into the highly water permeable layer; and a carbon dioxide pressure pipe 13 which is arranged in the access tunnel 10 and the branch gallery 11 and connected with the press-in well 12.
