PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a cellular phone etc. thin by simplifying a lock mechanism of a hinge device which connects a display part housing and an operation part housing of the cellular phone etc. by a slide operation and a rotation operation, thereby making the hinge device thin. SOLUTION: A slider plate 1 is fixed to the display part housing. A rotation plate 14 is fixed to the operation part housing. An intermediate plate 13 is slidably attached to the slider plate 1, and rotatably attached to the rotation plate 14 by a rotational axis 12. The slider plate 1 includes: a linear protrusion 21 which contacts the rotational axis 12 so as to prevent the rotation operation during the slide operation; and an inclined protrusion 22 which contacts the rotational axis 12 so as to prevent the slide operation during the rotation operation. When the housings are opened, the display part housing is extended by sliding with respect to the operation part housing.
