<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal detector for electric instrument capable of automatically detecting a first pulse transmitted from a box upper surface of an electric instrument and a second pulse transmitted from a box front surface. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The signal detector for electric instrument 100 includes a detector body 10 and a signal detection mechanism 60 provided so as to be freely moving back and forth with respect to the detector body 10. The signal detection mechanism 60 includes an inner box 61 and an outer box 63 bendably connected to the inner box 61 by a hinge 62. When the signal detection mechanism 60 protrudes outward from the detector body 10, the inner box 61 detects the first pulse transmitted from a first pulse transmitter 55 at the box upper surface 51c, and the outer box 63 is bent from the inner box 61, and detects the second pulse transmitted from a second pulse transmitter 56 at the box front surface 51d.
