<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation device of a thermoplastic resin for determining whether neck-in of the thermoplastic resin is small or not without requiring verification by a finishing machine by using a large quantity of resin, when being used for extrusion lamination or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This evaluation device 1 of a thermoplastic resin is equipped with a neck-in property evaluation part 14 for calculating the ratio <η<SB>P</SB>/η<SB>U</SB>> between a plane elongational viscosity η<SB>P</SB>and a uniaxial elongational viscosity η<SB>U</SB>, averaged in the range of extension speed not less than 1×10<SP>-3</SP>s<SP>-1</SP>and not more than 1×10<SP>2</SP>s<SP>-1</SP>.
