摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving control device for a vehicle which can improve fuel efficiency and at the same time of inhibiting a gear change shock in changing the gear of an automatic transmission. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A capacity coefficient control means 126 reduces a capacity coefficient C by responding to the decision of the upshift initiation of the automatic transmission 8 made by an upshift initiation decision means 128, whereby the slippage of a torque converter 6 is increased, resulting in an increase in the attenuation effects of the torque converter 6 associated with the slippage. Accordingly, the increased attenuation effects can bring about the inhibition of the gear change shock.
