PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly correct the start time of scanning and the scanning width of laser light beam, accompanying the expansion of a scanning lens due to a temperature variation. SOLUTION: A first BD sensor 101 is installed, at a position where laser light beam L which does not pass through a first scanning lens 83 is detectable in a scanner unit 48. Furthermore, a second BD sensor 102 is installed, at a position where the laser light beam L, which passes through the first scanning lens 83 is detectable. The detection time difference between the time, when the first BD sensor 101 detects the laser light beam L, and the time when the second BD sensor 102 detects the laser light beam L is calculated. A video controller 108 reads correction data stored in a memory 112, on the basis of the detection time difference, and drives and controls an engine controller 110 so as to drive an LD (laser diode) with a timing for cancellation of shift in the start time of scanning and the scanning width due to the expansion of the first scanning lens 83.
