<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an identification property of a storage medium while further reducing the data storage capacity of identification images in the storage medium including a wireless tag. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The storage medium provided with a medium side terminal, a main storage part including a non-volatile memory, an auxiliary storage part, and a wireless communication part can be attached/detached to/from an electronic camera. The auxiliary storage part of the storage medium is composed of a non-volatile memory which is physically independent of the main storage part to store an identification image for one frame to be displayed. The wireless communication part transmits the identification image to the external by wireless communication. Further, the electronic camera also includes an imaging unit, an apparatus side terminal allowed to be connected to the medium side terminal, a control unit, and an image processing unit. The control unit transmits/receives data to/from the storage medium connected through the terminal. The image processing unit generates the identification image from a recorded image. The control units stores the data of the recorded image in the main storage unit, and when storing the data of a new identification data in the auxiliary storage unit, overwrites the data of the new identification image on the data of the existing identification image.
