<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer controlling interrupt printing by adjusting and setting a printing speed and the number of sheets to be printed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The printer having a plurality of paper delivery trays and capable of adjusting the printing speed includes an interrupt printing computing means 11 computing an interrupt printing permission determination value which is a threshold indicating the permission of interrupt printing carried out by a second print job stored in a print job queue with respect to a first print job under printing and waiting for print processing, based on the preset optional number of sheets and the printing speed of the first print job, and computing an interrupt printing permission comparison value which is a threshold indicating the permission of interrupt printing carried out to the first print job by the second print job, based on the printing speed and the number of printed sheets of the first print job; and an interrupt printing determining means 12 comparing the interrupt printing permission determination value with the interrupt printing permission comparison value to determine whether interrupt printing is possible.
