摘要 A method and system for improving operation of an absorption chiller (10) having an evaporator (12), an absorber (14), a generator (16), and a condenser (20) varies the circulation of a refrigerant and/or an absorbent solution in order to allow for continued operation of the absorption chiller (10) during a low cooling and/or low heating demand. An overflow circulation loop (46, 50, 54) is configured to vary the circulation of the absorbent solution and selectively recycle excess absorbent solution from the generator (16) to the absorber (14). A refrigerant circulation loop (34, 52, 58, 60) is configured to vary the circulation of the refrigerant in the evaporator (12) to avoid running a refrigerant pump (36) when the evaporator (12) contains a minimum amount of refrigerant. The absorption chiller (10) may be a single-effect, double-effect or triple-effect absorption chiller. In some embodiments, the absorption chiller (10) may be capable of simultaneous heating and cooling.
