<p>The machine (1) has a rotating cutting knife driven by a drive motor. The knife is rotated for separating slices of supplied food bar on a circular path in a cutting direction. A control device (2) controls the drive motor such that the drive motor is driven against the cutting direction for certain distance during acceleration of the cutting knife and in the cutting direction for further distance. The drive motor comprises a position sensor i.e. rotary angle sensor, for detecting position of the cutting knife. A knife cover (13) covers the circular path of the cutting knife. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a cutting machine.</p> |
