Two doors 17, 18 pivotally mounted within a frame 38, e.g. of the freight-containing compartment of a vehicle, are provided with fastening means comprising a rod 22 pivotally mounted on door 17 and provided at its ends with tongues 34 for engaging keepers 36, at least one of the tongue and keeper assemblies (assembly 26, as shown) providing vertical positioning of the door 17 relative to the frame, and a rod 44 pivotally mounted on door 18 and provided at its ends with tongue and keeper assemblies 40, 41, rod 44 also having at least one intermediate tongue 52 for engaging a keeper 50 mounted on door 17. Assembly 26 is identical with that described in Specification 1,018,691. The intermediate tongues 52, of which three are shown in Fig. 2, may engage with three separate keepers 50, each provided with a shaped block 54, Fig. 3. Alternatively, the intermediate keepers may be formed by a single channel section member extending from top to bottom of door 17, Figs. 8-10 (not shown). This member may be provided with a shaped elongated member for co-operating with the tongues or the member itself may be shaped for this purpose.
