<p>The invention relates to a drill body intended for chip removing machining and of the type that comprises, on one hand, an envelope surface (2), which transforms into a front end surface (3), and on the other hand a front cutting edge (5) adjacent to a chip flute (6), which is countersunk inthe envelope surface (2), more precisely, in the area in front of the cutting edge as viewed in the direction of rotation of the drill body, and which runs out into the front end surface.In the front part of the chip flute (6), a depression (20) is formed, which includes two part surfaces extending at an obtuse angle to each other, one of which forms a bottom surface in the depression and the other one is facing the cutting edge (5) being rotationally behind in order to form a stop face for a chip removedby the cutting edge. By means of the depression, a quick chip control is obtained when the drill body enters a workpiece.</p> |
