PURPOSE: A method and a system for displaying identification of an attached file are provided to supply file shadow display information corresponding to an extension of an attached file to a mobile terminal, thereby checking a conversion state of the attached file by only the file shadow display information. CONSTITUTION: A file shadow display database(220) keeps file shadow display information corresponding to an extension of an attached file. If a mail is included in an attached file, a conversion determining unit(230) determines whether the attached file can be converted. An information extracting unit(210) extracts the file shadow display information. An information providing unit(250) provides the extracted file shadow display information to the mobile terminal.
