PURPOSE: A pseudo frequency generator and a method thereof are provided to generate a pseudo frequency for a frequency hard handoff by using a pilot channel signal extracted from the synthesized signal of a call channel signals and an overhead channel signal. CONSTITUTION: A pilot channel signal extractor(260) extracts a pilot channel signal from the synthesized signal. At least one frequency converter(230-235) transforms the extracted pilot channel signal to the high frequency signal of one or more pseudo frequency. Linear amplifiers(250,255) output an amplified signal by amplifying at least one high frequency signal. A distributor(225) distributes the synthesized signal to a plurality of signals. The distributor supplies the divided signal to the pilot signal extractor. A directional coupler(220) extracts the part of a signal power from the synthesized signal.
