PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for operating the same are provided to the prevent dropping spot defect by increasing the analogue driving voltage during the high voltage stress test process higher than the analogue driving voltage during a normal operation process. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises a liquid crystal panel(500) and a dc-dc converter(210). The dc-dc converter generates the analogue driving voltage for driving the liquid crystal display panel and a gate-on voltage according to the input voltage. The dc-dc converter comprises a pulse width modulator, a boost converter and a charge pump. The pulse width modulator modulates the pulse width of the analogue driving voltage and the gate-on voltage. The boost converter outputs the analog driving voltage. The charge pump outputs the gate-on voltage. The dc-dc converter outputs the analogue driving voltage which is increased for the high voltage stress test process higher than for the normal operation. The dc-dc converter outputs the gate-on voltage for keeping the same level as the level of the normal operation.
