Panoramic roof module assemblies for vehicles

A panoramic vehicle roof module assembly (26) is provided with front and rear cross members (28,30). A pair of extruded side rails (32,34) are each mounted to the cross members (28,30). Each side rail (32,34) has a front integrated roof track (54), a rear integrated roof track (56) and an integrated sun shade track (58), each track formed therein along its length. A roof panel (36) is supported by one of the integrated roof tracks (54,56) of the side rails to interface with the front cross member (28). An intermediate cross member (40,52) is mounted to the side rails (32,34) and is interfaced with the roof panel (36). A second panel (38) is provided mounted to the side rails (32,34) to interface with the rear cross member (30) and the intermediate cross member (40,52). The side rails (32,34) each include an integrated support flange (62) to mount the assembly to a vehicle (20). A method of manufacturing a panoramic vehicle roof module assembly is provided.
