A method for generating a data profile of one or more bio-markers, which emanate from the wall of a blood vessel, comprises analysing a plurality of blood samples taken along the length of a blood vessel each sample being of blood that has been mixed across the radial extent of the blood vessel. The analysis includes the steps of measuring the concentration of the bio-marker in each sample, determining a concentration correction factor for each sample, to correct for differences in dilution and sample volume, determining a second concentration correction factor for the or each biomarker present in general circulation in the bloodstream and applying the first and second concentration correction factors to the measured concentration level of the biomarker in each blood sample to generate the data profile along the length of the blood vessel. |
