PURPOSE: An automatic focusing device which performs an exact auto focusing motion and an operation method thereof are provided to perform a tilt amending of a lens. CONSTITUTION: A lends module(10) has a lens assembly having a plurality of lenses. A voice coil motor(11) is installed on an outer sidewall of the lens module. The voice coil motor has first to third voice coils. A driver(20) performs the auto-focusing about the lens module. A tilt information storing unit(21) stores the tilt vector information about the oblique direction of the lens surface.
