1286548 Supplying bobbins; donning PALITEX PROJECT CO GmbH 18 Nov 1969 [6 Dec 1968] 56273/69 Headings DID and D1F In a device on a twisting machine, a chain or like conveyor 15 carries supply bobbins 17 on bobbin receivers 16 spaced at spindle pitch on the chain, the chain being carried in a guide rail 14 extending above the spindles. The chain or like member 15 can be inserted in the guide from one end of the machine and can be taken out in either direction. The bobbin receivers comprise mandrels onto which the bobbins can be slipped. Full bobbins are mounted on the mandrels while the chain is clear of the machine, e.g. in a spiral guide rail 48 on a movable trolley, in guide rails 54 beneath the machine or in guide rails mounted above head level. The chain with full bobbins is guided, e.g. from the guide rail 48 via intermediate guide portions, e.g. 45 to a chain wheel 46 which is rotated to feed the chain into rail 14. The drive is stopped when full bobbins 17 are positioned over each spindle in the position shown in Fig. 1. The guide rail 14 is then rotated about a shaft 19 on which it is mounted to bring the bobbins into the position shown in dash-dot lines in Fig. 1. The member 20 which carries the shaft 19 is then lowered to slip the bobbin onto the spindle. A shaft 29 is then rotated to move a shaft 28 which has at its end a pusher 27 and so depress a spring urged member within the mandrel and allow the bobbin to fall from the mandrel and onto the spindle. The chain is then removed for reloading. In an alternative form, Fig. 3, not shown, the chain guide rail 14 is mounted on a parallel arm arrangement which moves it over the spindles. Before donning, the guide eye 8 has to be retracted and the thread guide tube at the top of the spindle removed. The empty package tube is then removed either by hand or by empty mandrels on a chain. |
