PURPOSE: A method for preparing a gel polymer electrolyte secondary battery is provided to increase stability at a high temperature and to reduce production costs using an unwoven fabric separator, and to control gelation according to the position within a battery by injecting a polymerization initiator besides a gel polymer monomer. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a gel polymer electrolyte secondary battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator and gel polymer electrolyte in a battery case comprises the steps of: (i) coating a polymerization initiator at one side contacting at least one gel polymer electrolyte selected from the positive electrode, negative electrode, and battery case; (ii) injecting the positive electrode, negative electrode, and a separator made of non-woven fabric into a battery case; and (iii) injecting a gel polymer electrolyte composition including an electrolyte solvent, electrolyte salt and polymer electrolyte monomer into the battery case, and then polymerizing the monomer to form gel polymer electrolyte. |
