A digital camera is provided with a microcomputer (110), which has a live view mode for controlling image data generated by a CMOS sensor (130) or image data provided by performing prescribed processing to the image data generated by the CMOS sensor, so as to be displayed on a liquid crystal monitor (150) in real time as a moving image. When a release button (141) receives an instruction for starting auto-focusing operation in live view mode, the microcomputer (110) permits a movable mirror to enter an optical path and measurement is performed by an AF sensor (132). Then, the microcomputer retracts the movable mirror from the optical path, and controls the data to be in live view mode. Thus, operability of the digital camera, which includes the movable mirror and displays an object image in live view display by an electronic view finder, is improved. |
