Disclosed is a composition for use in the production of a vinyl chloride film for shielding a heat ray. The composition is produced by a method comprising the steps of: dispersing a microparticle of a tungsten oxide represented by the general formula: WOand/or a microparticle of a composite tungsten oxide represented by the general formula: MWOand having a hexagonal crystalline structure and a dispersing agent in an organic solvent to produce a dispersion solution; mixing the dispersion solution with a plasticizer for production of a vinyl chloride film to produce a mixture; and removing the organic solvent from the mixture by the distillation under a reduced pressure so that the content of the organic solvent in the mixture is reduced to 5 wt% or less, thereby producing the composition.
