PURPOSE: A fall prevention mesh system for a hoistway is provided to prevent falls of an elevator car by installing safety nets according to floor in the hoistway. CONSTITUTION: A fall prevention mesh system for a hoistway comprises lower and upper safety nets for each floor. The lower safety net is installed under an elevator car by being connected to each floor with connection lines inside the hoistway. The upper safety net is connected above the elevator car in the same way as the lower safety net. In case the elevator car is a rope type, a hole for letting a rope pass through is formed in the center of each safety net.
