Disclosed is a power supply system comprising at least one branch that encompasses a power source (1) and means (2) for connecting an electrical load (3). A comparator (5) with a transistor (7) that is mounted downstream thereof is connected to a voltage tapping node (4) of said branch. The transistor (7) is connected to a joint signal line (8) which is connected to a feedback input of a direct voltage regulator (10). The inventive system can be expanded by any number of additional branches which share the same signal line (8). The disclosed power supply system is particularly suitable for supplying several LED lines used for illumination purposes and display units.
