PURPOSE: A portable device for transmitting an event for a mobile disk to a host device is provided to selectively adjust whether a mobile disk is recognized according to whether a mobile disk exists, thereby improving recognition performance of the mobile disk. CONSTITUTION: If a portable device is connected to a host device, it is checked whether mobile media exist in the portable device(S200,S210). If the mobile media exist in the portable device, a mobile disk mount event is transmitted to the host device(S240). If the mobile media are removed, a mobile disk unmount event is transmitted to the host device(S260).
