MANUFACTURING METHOD OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of liquid crystal device capable of forming a liquid crystal device such that two sheets of glass substrates are not protruded to the outside from a sealing zone which demarcates liquid crystal chambers. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the liquid crystal device in which the liquid crystal chambers are demarcated by sealing zone between the two sheets of glass substrates arranged with a prescribed gap so as to face the inner surfaces to each other includes: a liquid crystal chamber forming process of demarcating a plurality of liquid crystal chambers by disposing the sealing zone having at least double width of the width required for sealing liquid crystal injected into the liquid crystal chambers between two sheets of glass substrates; a modified layer forming process of forming a modified layer on an inner part of the sealing zone by irradiating the laser beam along the sealing zone such that the glass substrate is transmitted from one side glass substrate side of the two sheets of glass substrates which form the plurality of liquid crystal chambers and the light-condensing point of a laser beam is positioned on the inner part at a position which divides the width of the sealing zone into two; and a glass substrate splitting process of splitting the two sheets of glass substrates along the modified layer formed on the sealing zone.
