<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dioxin-containing polluted soil purifying method at a low cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The polluted soil is adjusted to slurry of a given concentration, the slurry is introduced into hydraulic cyclones to separate coarse particles, the dioxin concentration of the separated coarse particles is measured for every set stage of the hydraulic cyclones in advance, a set stage of the hydraulic cyclone giving the minimum ratio of the dioxin concentration of the separated coarse particles to the dioxin concentration of the solid matter in the slurry is determined, the coarse particles separated from the slurry is dewatered at the set stage of the hydraulic cyclone, and the slurry containing the classified fine particles is subjected to the detoxification treatment.
