STEREOSCOPIC IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display apparatus appropriate sticking to an image display panel even if a light shield layer has any recesses and projections.

SOLUTION: The stereoscopic image display apparatus includes: the image display panel 1 for regularly mixing right-eye images and left-eye images within a plane and displaying them; a phase difference element 2 having a right-eye image display section 2a corresponding to the right-eye images and a left-eye image display section 2b corresponding to the left-eye images and used for carrying out polarization so that the right-eye images and left-eye images are different from each other in polarized state; the light shield layer 3 projecting so as to correspond to an area that includes a boundary between the right-eye image display section 2a and the left-eye display section 2b; and an adhesive layer 4 formed at least between the top face of the light shield layer 3 and the image display panel 1, and thereby sticking the image display panel 1, the light shield layer 3 and the phase difference element 2 with each other.
