<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality detection device discriminating whether a fuel injection valve or an internal combustion engine causes abnormality if the injection correction amount of a fuel injection valve when the maximum rotational speed between cylinders is equalized exceeds a normal range. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When equalization of the maximum rotational speed between the cylinders is finished (S302: Yes) in an idle stable state (S300: Yes), the abnormality detection device determines whether the injection correction amount of each cylinder when the maximum rotational speed is equalized deviates from the normal range (S304). When the injection correction amount deviates from the normal range in either specific cylinder (S304: Yes), the abnormality detection device determines that the fuel injection valve 30 is abnormal (S308) if a difference in rotational speed fluctuation is in the normal range in the specific cylinder (S306: Yes). When the difference in the rotational speed fluctuation deviates from the normal range in the specific cylinder (S306: No), the abnormality detection device determines that the engine 50 is abnormal (S312).
