<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suitable technology to reduce image quality deterioration by beneficially performing interpolation processing even when a character telop includes a quiescence character telop. <P>SOLUTION: A video processing apparatus has a telop detection part for detecting motion of the character telop, separately prepared other than a motion vector detection part for detecting a motion vector of the video. The character telop detection part detects a movement amount of the character telop in a line unit and a movement amount of the character telop in a frame unit, and performs interpolation processing for the character telop region using either movement amount of the character telop. For example, the interpolation processing is performed preferentially using the movement amount of in a frame unit for the quiescence character telop region, and preferentially using the movement amount in a line unit for a scrolling character telop region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
