<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cationic polymerizable adhesive which does not occur fading or discoloration of a polarizer, is not affected by heat or the like, and can maintain an excellent normal adhesive strength for a long period of time, and to provide a polarizing plate in which a polarizer and a protective film are bonded together by using the adhesive. <P>SOLUTION: The cationic polymerizable adhesive for bonding the polarizer and the protective film together contains: a glycidyl ether group containing compound (A); a hydrolyzable silyl group and epoxy group containing compound (B); and a photo-cationic polymerization initiator (C). Wherein, an amount of chlorine remaining in the total amount of the cationic polymerizable adhesive is ≤1,500 ppm.
