<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print image data with other image forming apparatuses even if the image forming apparatus such as a copying machine is used by others or out of order or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A digital copying machine as the image forming apparatus includes a network interface part 7 for communicating with an outside host device (a personal computer or workstation 11), and with a memory for storing image data and action mode data received therefrom, and the image data are printed with a printer part 2 according to its action mode.
