PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor capable of changing the rotational speed of an armature by switching the conduction of electricity among three brushes, reducing vibration and operating noise, and improve workability in mounting connecting wires and winding wires. SOLUTION: The electric motor has a magnet 4 with two pairs of poles, eighteen teeth 9, and eighteen segments 14. A winding wire 12 and a connecting wire for forming an armature coil 7 are formed sequentially by a first conductive wire 110 or a second conductive wire 120, wherein the winding wire 12 is divided into first to fourth coil winding wires 7A, 7B, 7M, and 7N that are adjacent to each another and are each wound around four teeth 9 adjacent to each other. A segment to which an end section 31 of the fourth coil winding wire 7N is connected is a segment 14 adjacent to a segment arranged at a position which is point symmetric about a segment as a refrence to which an end section 30 of the first coil winding wire 7A is connected.
