PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic apparatus capable of suitably determining whether a load detected by detection unit is caused by water pressure or by some other pressure and performing prescribed control according to the determination. SOLUTION: The portable electronic apparatus 1 includes: a first housing having an operation unit and an operation detection unit 101 which detects the operation unit being pressed; a second housing coupled to the first housing movably between an opening state with the operation unit exposed to the outside and a closing state with the operation unit covered so as to form a gap communicating between the outside and the first housing; and a control unit 103 which performs first control corresponding to pressing force when the operation detection unit 101 detects the pressing in the opening state, and second control when the operation detection unit 101 detects the pressing in the closing state.
