<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein taking a photograph can ney be taken, or driving becomes slow in a photographing environment of low temperature, and thereby to take a photograph in conformity to a photographing environment without mounting a new thermosensor as a means for detecting an ambient temperature in the photographing environment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Variations in temperature in a photographing environment are detected by measuring variations in pulse width, outputted from the driving amount-detecting means of a lens which is driven in AF operation.
