PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for treads achieving, at a high level, all of steering stability, rolling resistance and workability which have been conflicting with each other in conventional techniques. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for treads is constituted by blending, based on 100 pts.mass of a rubber component (A), 20-150 pts.mass of silica (B), 2-70 pts.mass of an aromatic vinyl compound-conjugated diene compound copolymer or a conjugated diene compound polymer (C) having a weight-average molecular weight in terms of polystyrene of 5,000-500,000 as measured by the gel permeation chromatography, and silane coupling agent (D) having a specific structure in an amount of 2.0-25 mass% based on the silica (B).
