PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam operated spring discharge interlock mechanism which moves a breaker mounted spring discharge interlock lever in operable communication with a cam follower to enable removal and replacement of the cam by disconnecting the cam from a link. SOLUTION: This mechanism rotates a racking screw to rack a breaker 18 into or out of an enclosure 14, rotates a shaft in operable communication with the racking screw, translationally moves a cam with a link having one end disconnectably connected to the cam and an opposing end disconnectably connected to a crank, that is fixedly attached to the shaft, translationally moves a cam follower that is in operable communication with the cam, moves the breaker mounted spring discharge interlock lever 34 that is in operable communication with the cam follower, and thereby enables removal and replacement of the cam by disconnecting the cam from the link.
