PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coating a porous plate capable of suppressing coating spots on the back face of the porous plate and deterioration of waterproof properties to the utmost. SOLUTION: The method comprises the steps of preparing an ALC 10 plate the surface of which includes a recessed part 10a and a protruded part 10b and also the back face of which includes a plane, a support plate 20 both the principal planes of which include a plane, and a conveyor belt 44 which is interlocked with a conveyor roller 43 and is rotated; mounting the support plate 20 below the conveyor belt 44 so as to bring it into contact with the conveyor belt 44; and coating the back face of the ALC plate 10 while supporting the ALC plate 10 on the face of the conveyor belt 44 which is made planar on the support plate 20 to shift the ALC plate 10 by the rotation of the conveyor belt 44.
