<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and assembly for very simply achieving connection and disconnection of PTO (power takeoff) in an automatic transmission of a vehicle, in which satisfaction of a predetermined condition is checked according to a request for connection/disconnection of the power takeoff (PTO), and when the predetermined condition is satisfied, an actuator 4 for connection/disconnection of the power takeoff is operated, and in that case, the actuator is controlled to connect/disconnect the PTO by a transmission controller 2.
