PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television broadcast receiver capable of preventing, as further as possible, an IC card from being carried away or the like in the case that the television broadcast receiver is installed in such an environment that an unspecified person may use the television broadcast receiver, and allowing ejection or the like of the IC card without inconvenience as further as possible in a case where the television broadcast receiver is installed in such an environment that the television broadcast receiver may be used individually. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a television broadcast receiver, comprising a card receiving section for receiving and holding an IC card, for performing predetermined processing using information recorded on the IC card, wherein a processing style is set to either a first mode or a second mode in response to an instruction from the outside, it is detected whether or not the IC card is taken away from the card receiving section and in the case that the processing style is set to the second mode and the IC card is taken away from the card receiving section, processing (notification processing) is performed for realizing at least either predetermined sound output or predetermined video display or in the case that the processing style is set to the first mode, the notification processing is not performed.
