<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an skin care preparation having excellent effects such as prevention of skin aging, or amelioration of skin, and suppression of hair growth. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The skin care preparation comprises a dipeptide compound represented by general formula (1) [wherein R<SP>1</SP>represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkanoyl group or -CH(R<SP>6</SP>)COOR<SP>7</SP>(wherein R<SP>6</SP>represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; and R<SP>7</SP>represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkenyl group, or an aralkyl group); R<SP>2</SP>represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group which may have a substituent; R<SP>3</SP>represents a lower alkyl group or a phenyl group; R<SP>4</SP>represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, or may form a heterocyclic ring together with R<SP>5</SP>and an adjacent nitrogen atom; R<SP>5</SP>represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have a substituent, or an aralkyl group which may have a substituent, or may form the heterocyclic ring together with R<SP>4</SP>; X represents -COOR<SP>8</SP>(wherein R<SP>8</SP>represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkenyl group, or an aralkyl group) or -SO<SB>3</SB>H; and n represents an integer of 0-4], or a salt thereof.
