<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod storage/display container whose lid is speedily opened/closed and which prevents a relative displacement between a lid side fitting portion and a body side fitting portion in hooking a hanging/catching portion. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This merchandise storage/display container which is a vertically long container with a polygonal cross section has a body portion 10, a bottom portion 40 which closes the bottom end opening of the body and a lid 20 which is openable/closable closing the top end opening of the body. The lid is formed on the top end of a sidewall forming the body and is provided with lid elements foldable relative to the sidewall, the body side fitting portion formed on the outside of a specific sidewall 10C of a plurality of sidewalls 10A, 10B, 10C, 10D forming the body, a lid side fitting portion 30 provided on the specific lid element 20A of the lid elements able to fit detachably with the body side fitting portion when the element is folded and its free end side area 20A' covers the outside of the specific sidewall and a hanging/catching portion joined to the top end of the sidewall.
